Eating in the summer is a little different but if you still want to try some traditional Savoyard cooking we recommend Le clin d'oeil . It is run by the owners Kristel at the front of house and Jean Noël the chef, offering all the typical cheese dishes of the region and specialising in duck dishes from their original area of the south west of France. It is also a great place to take kids as they put as much effort in to the kids' menu as they do for the adults.
It’s great to kick back in the sunshine with a beer in the summer, especially when there’s some great live music playing. Lots of the bars have live music in the summer and winter. Bands to look out for are Squid Lips, Laid Back with Larry and The Buskers 74 who organise the open mic night at Rhodos and a Jam Night at the Alba in Saint Jean D’Aulps where anyone who wants to can get up and have a go with the house band or some of the locals who play most weeks. Both are really fun to go to even if you don’t play, sometimes the music can be great!
There a lots of day trips to do if you come to Morzine with your car or hire one. Some of the nicest can be going down to the Lake Geneva beaches of Excenevex and Evian or the medieval town of Yvoire. Chamonix is less than an hour away where you can take a trip up the Aguille du Midi or see the Mer de Glace, France’s largest glacier. Annecy is similar to Lake Geneva and has lots of things to do. It’s one of the most beautiful places around and swimming in the lake is amazing.
